Surprise

I love baking for my friends, especially when they aren't expecting it. So I was excited to take this to my friend after she had her baby...I told her I was "just dropping by some clothes". I did have clothes too...

Mmmm...chocolate ganache

UW Graduation Cake

Every time I had someone ask me for another cake, it made my day. So when my friend who I did the monkey cake for asked me to do a graduation cake for her intern, I was so excited she had asked me for another one! Plus, it was a UW graduation cake...my alma mater!

I knew I what I wanted to do, but I had never done either of my ideas: chocolate ganache or hi-hat cupcakes. But they both turned out amazing...and delicious if I do say so myself. If you are interested, give the hit-hats a try. They are easy, and SOOOO tasty!

Teddy Bear

Aside from cakes, I have lots of other hobbies I enjoy, including junk stores. And lots of times, these two hobbies intertwine, and I find cake baking stuff when I'm junking! I found a 3D cake mold for $5 one day, and came home excited to try it out.

The cake was...awful. It was sooooo dry! My note to self that day was "find a better cake recipe for bear mold".

Autumn Flowers

And then it happened...my first cake order from someone in another town! I was really excited when they described what they wanted, because it was the first time someone had asked for a "pretty" cake! And I think I pulled it off pretty well. Get it, "pretty" well? Hahaha!

Neverland Cupcakes

Up to this point, the Halloween cake was the only thing I had ever taken to my daughter's preschool. So I figured it was time...but didn't want to go overboard again! So I made these cute little cupcakes for her snack day. I thought they looked like the "neverfood" the lost boys ate in the movie Hook.

Easter Cakes

You would think that baking on Easter, nothing bad would happen. But oh how wrong you would be, at least if you're talking about me! With half an hour until the party, my hand mixer burned out and I had to borrow another one from my customer's mother. Luckily she only lived two blocks away! A half hour late, but I got it to the party. (The family was so nice about it too)
